Source facts

SoL-Pi applies recursive self-improvement at the harness layer across many environments. The abstract describes mechanisms for action execution, context compaction, observation handling, and delegated reading; on a 51-task EdgeBench evaluation it reports comparable performance to Pi across GPT-5.6 Sol and Opus 5 while reducing recorded token traffic by 44.7–49.0% and API cost by about one third.

Analysis

The paper treats orchestration policy as an object that can be discovered and improved, not just hand-written. If its evaluation transfers, the main business implication is lower cost for long-running agent loops without requiring a larger base model.

Uncertainty/Doubt
